Benefits

Protection against heatwaves in unheated roof spaces: it stops thermal radiation from the roof covering before it heats the attic. It is installed between the two battens, with the aluminium facing upwards, with a ventilated space at the eaves and at the ridge. It is not intended for occupied habitable attics.

Technical data

From the technical data sheet

0.05EmissivityprEN 15976Emissivity: an emissivity of 0.05 means that the aluminium face radiates only 5% of the heat that an ordinary surface would radiate, and therefore does not give off heat by radiation. The lower the value, the better. What it means →
140 mWater vapour diffusion resistance, SdEN ISO 12572Sd (m): the degree to which the membrane resists the passage of water vapour, expressed as an equivalent air-layer thickness; high Sd = vapour barrier, low Sd = diffusion membrane, which allows vapour to escape. What it means →
