Thermo-reflective membrane with aluminium
Reflectiva Bronze is a multi-layer thermo-reflective membrane, the economical option in the Reflectiva family. It is used beneath the roof covering, as an additional thermo-reflective layer in the ventilated zone of the roof, and on the inside, as a sealed thermo-reflective vapour barrier.
Additional thermo-reflective layer in the ventilated zone, over the breathable membrane.
On the inside
Thermo-reflective vapour barrier, installed between the living space and the insulation, airtight.
The breathable membrane remains mandatory for the release of moisture to the outside.
Radiant protection, low thickness, clear installation
Isoflect Bronze completes the roof or interior insulation system, without replacing the mandatory technical layers.
Reduces thermal radiation
Limits the transfer of heat from the sun-heated roof covering to the roof structure.
Protects the structure
Helps reduce thermal stress on the structural elements and limits condensation on metal sheeting.
Comfort in the attic room
Helps limit overheating of the spaces beneath the roof, even on extremely hot summer days.
Vapour barrier
On the inside, installed airtight, it limits vapour migration from the living space towards the thermal insulation.
Two applications. Two installation rules.
Bronze is used differently depending on its position in the system: beneath the roof covering or on the inside.
Beneath the roof covering
Installed in roofs with a batten and counter-batten system, in the ventilated zone, over the breathable membrane, without replacing it. The aluminium faces the roof covering, in order to limit the thermal radiation transmitted.
On the inside
Installed between the living space and the bulk insulation zone, with the aluminium facing the room. It must be installed airtight, with the joints, edges and penetrations sealed.
Bronze is installed in the ventilated zone, not in place of the breathable membrane
The membrane is installed over the breathable roof membrane, in the ventilated zone between the roof covering battens. The aluminium faces upwards, towards the roof covering, in order to reduce thermal radiation. Ventilation at the eaves and ridge must be maintained for air circulation.
Parallel to the eaves
The strips are installed in courses parallel to the base of the roof, progressively towards the ridge.
Progressively towards the ridge
Installation is carried out course by course, as the horizontal battens of the roof covering are fitted.
Ventilation 30–40 cm
Free ventilation gaps are maintained at the eaves and ridge for air circulation.
Caution: Isoflect Bronze does not replace the breathable membrane
The breathable membrane allows water vapour to escape from the thermal insulation into the ventilated zone and protects the roof structure against accidental infiltration. Replacing it with an impermeable vapour barrier is a major technical error.
If water vapour can no longer escape from the structure, moisture remains trapped in the thermal insulation, in the sarking boards and in the timber elements. Over time, this moisture can cause condensation, mould, loss of thermal performance and complete deterioration of the roof.
Main installation steps beneath the roof covering
The order of installation and compliance with the ventilation rules are essential for the correct operation of the system.
The breathable membrane is kept
The breathable roof membrane remains mandatory in the roof system.
Bronze is installed in the ventilated zone
The membrane is installed between the roof covering battens, as an additional thermo-reflective layer.
The aluminium faces upwards
The reflective surface faces the roof covering, in order to limit thermal radiation.
Strips parallel to the eaves
Installation is carried out in courses parallel to the base of the roof, in bands.
Progressive rise towards the ridge
The courses are installed gradually, along with the fitting of the horizontal battens.
Ventilation is maintained
Free gaps of approximately 30–40 cm are left at the eaves and ridge for air circulation.

The values come from the Reflectiva Bronze technical data sheet, edition 08/2026. The mechanical characteristics are declared separately, once testing is complete. Construction: 90 g/m² polyethylene air-bubble film, laminated on one face with 24 µm pure aluminium film (7 µm aluminium and 17 µm lamination layer). The aluminium face always faces the source of thermal radiation.

Frequently asked questions
Important technical clarifications for the correct installation of the Isoflect Bronze membrane.
Does Isoflect Bronze replace the breathable membrane?
No. Isoflect Bronze is not a breathable membrane. It is installed as an additional thermo-reflective layer. The breathable membrane remains mandatory for the release of vapour to the outside and for the protection of the thermal insulation and the roof structure.
How is Isoflect Bronze installed beneath the roof covering?
It is installed in roofs with battens and counter-battens, in the ventilated zone, over the breathable membrane. The aluminium faces the roof covering. The strips are installed parallel to the eaves and rise progressively towards the ridge. Ventilation gaps of 30–40 cm are maintained at the eaves and ridge.
What role does Isoflect Bronze play beneath the roof covering?
Beneath the roof covering, it acts as an additional thermo-reflective layer. It limits the thermal radiation transmitted by the sun-heated roof covering to the roof structure. It helps reduce overheating of the spaces beneath the roof and protects the load-bearing structure from thermal stress.
Can Isoflect Bronze be installed on the inside?
Yes. On the inside, Isoflect Bronze is installed between the living space and the bulk insulation zone, with the aluminium facing the room. In this application, it must be installed airtight, with the joints, edges and penetrations sealed.
Is Isoflect Bronze a vapour barrier?
Yes, in the interior application, if it is installed airtight, with the joints, edges and penetrations sealed. It limits the migration of water vapour from the living space towards the bulk insulation and the cold areas of the building.
What types of roofs can it be used on?
On roofs with a batten and counter-batten system, regardless of the type of roof covering: metal sheeting, metal tiles, clay tiles, concrete tiles or other compatible systems.
Do you want to use Isoflect Bronze in your roof?
Choose an economical thermo-reflective membrane, with radiant protection beneath the roof covering or as a sealed vapour barrier on the inside.
