The attic build-up, layer by layer

From the roof covering inwards: what goes in each position, what each layer does and which products belong in it.

    Under the roof covering

    The breather membrane: Roof Pro or Roof Eco

    The first layer from the outside. It sits over the rafters, under the battens and under the tiles or sheet metal. It lets vapour escape from the build-up and stops water that gets in beneath the roof covering.

    Roof Pro has a pure aluminium face, so it also adds a radiant barrier at the top of the roof. Roof Eco does the same, with a simpler reflective film.

    Ce face: Releases vapour, stops water and dust, reflects part of the summer heat

    Between the rafters

    Wolle insulation fibre

    It fills the gap between the rafters. It limits heat transfer through its thickness and structure, from 0,035 W/mK, and works acoustically as well.

    It does not settle over time and does not irritate during installation. It is cut with a knife and fitted into the bays, with no joints.

    Ce face: Addresses conduction — the heat that passes through the mass of the material

    From the inside

    The Reflective Pack: Gold and Multistrat

    The last two layers, the ones that close the build-up. Gold is installed under the rafters, once you have fitted the insulation between them. Multistrat is installed before the plasterboard or the timber lining.

    Together with the sealed air layer between them they form an ultra-high-performance insulating section, designed to add efficiency to the insulation already fitted between the rafters. With 10–15 cm of insulation between the rafters, the result is a performance equivalent to 21–26 cm of conventional insulation.

    Ce face: Reflect 95–97% of radiation, close off air currents and control vapour
