The saving is calculated against an uninsulated roof, in Romanian climate conditions. The thermal resistance of the membrane assembly is R = 2,09 m²K/W, a tested value.
Gold is installed under the rafters, once you have fitted the insulation between them. Multistrat is installed before the plasterboard or the timber lining. Together with the sealed air layer between them they form a high-performance insulating section, which adds R = 2,09 m²K/W to what you already have between the rafters. A separate vapour barrier film towards the interior is no longer needed.
